Margie Blakney-Saxton

Mrs. Margie Ann Blakney-Saxton, age 57, of Mayfield passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at her residence.

She attended Fairview Baptist Church and was a retired police officer for Mayfield Police Department.

Mrs. Blakney-Saxton is survived by her husband of 14 years, Ben Saxton, Jr.; her father, James Gibbs of St. Louis, MO; three sons, Jamar Blakney of Mayfield, KY, James Blakney, Jr. of Mayfield, KY and Michael Blakney of Murray, KY; one daughter, Marja Blakney of Mayfield, KY; two brothers, Anthony Townsend and Aaron Townsend both of St. Louis, MO; and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Townsend and her mother, Odie Kelley Gibbs.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Ann Blakney-Saxton will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.  Rev. G. E. Hussey will officiate.  Interment will follow at Mayfield Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
