Gailon Walker

April 8, 1934 — July 15, 2011

Gailon Walker, 77, of Paducah died at 12:20 p.m. Friday at Kindred Hospital in Greenwood, Ind.

Mr. Walker was a U.S. Army veteran where he served two years in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a boilermaker and worked for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad shops for fourteen years. He was a member of the Paducah Boilermaker Union and retired from Amtrak Railroad shops in Beech Grove, Ind.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy English Walker; one son, Rick Walker of Indianapolis; one sister Norma Walker Deaton of Lone Oak; and one grandson, Nash Walker of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie G. and Geneva McNeill Walker.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
